Dr. Mark E. Moore is serving his third term on the Board of Supervisors. He was first elected to the Board in 2011 after serving 12 years on the Dinwiddie County Planning Commission. He is a member and past Chair of the Crater Planning District Commission, and a member of the GoVirginia Region 4 Economic Development Board. Dr. Moore also serves as a member and past Chair of the Virginia Association of Counties Education Steering Committee and is a Director on the board of the Virginia Planning District Commission.
Dr. Moore has lived in Dinwiddie County since 1989. He and his wife, SanDee raised their three children in the Sutherland area of the County. Dr. Moore is the owner of Crater Vision Center, located in the City of Petersburg. He was a member of the Petersburg Lions Club for 29 years and was instrumental in helping to charter the Dinwiddie Lions Club, of which his wife was also a charter member. Dr. Moore is a Deacon, Trustee, and Sunday School teacher at West End Baptist Church in Dinwiddie County.
In his free time, Dr. Moore enjoys traveling with his family – particularly to Virginia Tech football games. His two older children are graduates of Virginia Tech, and his youngest daughter is currently a student and a member of the Marching Virginians Band – GO HOKIES!
